New President, Other Promotions Announced at SANYO-Verbatim CD Company

New President and Other Promotions Announced

March 19, 1999    Richmond, Indiana

The promotions of three SANYO-Verbatim executives have been announced by Hideo Nakai, Chief Administrative Officer and Senior Vice President.

They are:

Tom Van Gessel, named President and Chief Executive Officer;

Brian Klaine, named Vice President of Production;

Ross Josephson, named Sales and Marketing Manager.

The three promotions take effect immediately.

Van Gessel has been with SANYO-Verbatim since 1987 as Vice President of Sales.  A graduate of the University of Michigan, he formerly held positions with Capitol Records and CBS/Columbia Records.   As President and CEO, he replaces Tom Ryan, who has resigned to pursue personal business opportunities and to move closer to family.  Mr. Van Gessell resides in Stamford, Connecticut with his wife and is expected to remain in that location, commuting as needed.

Klaine joined SANYO-Verbatim in 1987, and has held several positions in the Production department, most recently Director of Production Operations. He is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University and resides in Richmond with his wife and family.

Josephson has worked directly with SANYO-Verbatim since 1997 as Manager of Internal Sales and Corporate marketing. Indirectly, he’s managed their marketing and advertising interests since 1995 from the CHAN & ASSOCIATES agency in Los Angeles. Locally, he serves on the Board of the Richmond Art Museum, WayNet and the Starr-Gennett Foundation.
