SANYO-Verbatim CD Company announced that it is changing its name to SANYO Laser Products, Inc. (SLP) reflecting Sanyo’s buy-back of Verbatim’s previous 50% ownership position, effective January 1, 2001. the company will continue to provide industry leading CD-Audio, CD-ROM, DVD and game console disc replication services and turnkey solutions to its client base.
SANYO-Verbatim CD Company created a strong foundation of success to build upon. The main objective of Sanyo’s partnership with Verbatim Corporation was to grow the CD-ROM segment of Sanyo Laser Product’s business. That strategy has been a compete success with approximately 45% of current business derived from that business segment.
Moving forward, Sanyo Laser Products will continue to focus on its core competencies as an ISO-9002 certified disc replication facility. Its centrally located operation in Richmond, Indiana, coupled with newly dedicated facilities for both compete turnkey fulfillment and direct-to-store distribution services signal a renewed vigor for this industry leader.
