CD Company Sponsors Sister Cities' Globalfest Event

10, 2000 RICHMOND, Indiana – SANYO-Verbatim CD Company
announced its continued sponsorship of Richmond’s annual Sister
Cities’ Globalfest event.
Organized by the local branch of the international Sister Cities
group, Globalfest is a
celebration of the cultures and peoples of the world.
A special interest of the event is to emphasize the local
community’s growing interdependence with far off peoples and cities.
This is accomplished through arts and crafts, music and dance,
spoken and written communication, and, of course, the favorite culinary tastings
from around the world.
SANYO is a supportive and award-winning community
citizen, whether locally here in Richmond or throughout the Americas,
Asia, Europe and Africa or where ever the organization has operating
units. The company is
truly an international collection of peoples and that is why the Sister
Cities program, and the Globalfest
event in particular, are supported so generously by SANYO.
The event itself and Sister Cities program both symbolize many of
the strengths that make our own organization great.
Richmond, Indiana’s Sister Cities, Daito, Japan and
Serpukhov, Russia regularly send participants to Globalfest. Over
one thousand participants from around eastern Indiana and abroad
participate in the 3-day event.
Many schoolchildren from Richmond and surrounding areas are able to
take part in the many planned activities.
This year’s event is scheduled for Friday, October 27th
through Sunday, October 29th and will be at the Kuhlman Center
at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Richmond.
